Writing a Song

I’m going to try writing a new song.  It’ll be a three week journey ending with a complete, although probably not exactly good, song.

As the last statement should imply, I am not a professional songwriter.  I wrote a song a couple of years ago, to which I’ve included the lyrics after the jump.  As I look at it now it’s a bit incoherent at some points, but I think I’ll rework it later and post the edited version here.

I will not post the recorded version.

And so begins the experiment.

Echoes

Once upon a time like a lullaby
We thought things would be just fine
But look at us now
On separate shores
Where are we going?
We’ve been here before

The sand was fine
And the warmth was nice
Castles ran up the shoreline
Ships circled round and round
Flags going up and down
I forgot what we were fighting for

N I see you crying
Makes me feel like dying
But the truth is darling
I can’t take it anymore

Time goes on
Hours circle by
They echo the moments of our life
Like a pain that was also my pleasure
Deeper and deeper
Seems like forever

My fluttering wings
Searching for a calling
Wet from the tears
From heaven falling
I miss you
But I’ll never say it,
